Hello
We are so excited that the Song Celebration is approaching! In the newsletter, we will go over all the necessary details about the celebration. Please pay attention to the dates and act promptly.
The data update for the Tartu Song Celebration ends on May 15th. After that, the registry will be closed, and changes to the number of participants and other important details can no longer be made.
CATERING
Soup options and prices
- We offer two types of soup: with meat and without (not canned soup).
- The price of one soup serving is 5 euros.
- Since the day is long, you can also order multiple soups.
Ordering soup
- To order soup, please fill out the form on the Tartu City Portal: https://linnaportaal.tartu.ee/laulupeosook
- The group leader gathers the number of eaters (singers, conductors, escorts) and reserves the corresponding amount of food. If any participants want multiple soups, these repetitions should also be added to the total number.
- After filling out the form, an invoice will be sent, and once payment is made, the order will be confirmed.
- The form is open until May 15th. If food is not pre-ordered, soup cannot be purchased on the day of the song celebration.
Catering tent
- The catering tent is open on June 22nd from the 10:00 to 20:30. Everyone has time during the day to enjoy soup leisurely.
- Soup will be provided based on a voucher.
- Similar to the audience area, only reusable dishes are used in the catering tent. Participants do not have to pay a deposit for the dishes, but they must return them immediately after eating at the catering tent.
What’s more
- In addition, there are numerous venders on the audience area of the song celebration who offer food and drinks starting from the beginning of rehearsals.
- Drinking water is available both in the performers’ area and in the audience area of the song celebration. Please bring your own cup or bottle for convenient water consumption.
WRISTBANDS, FOOD VOUCHERS AND PROGRAMME BOOK
- Groups wristbands, food vouchers, and programme book (in Estonian) can be picked up from June 11th to June 14th, between 3 pm and 5 pm, at Tiigi Seltsimaja (Tiigi 11, Tartu, Estonia), on the first floor. If the designated pickup time doesn’t work for you, please send an email to [email protected] so we can arrange a suitable time for the item handover.
- Wristbands will be distributed based on the confirmed number of performers in each group (+ leader and escorts). The programme book is intended for each group leader. Programme books will be available for sale to the public starting from June 16th.
SONG AND DANCE CELEBRATION SOUVENIRS
- The souvenirs will be available for sale in mid-May. The selection at the celebration includes:
T-shirts in two different colors
Sweatshirt in one color

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

PARKING
Bicycles
- From June 21st to June 22nd, there will be a bicycle parking lot open to the main entrance of the Song Festival Grounds (Laulupeo Avenue). There will be surveillance only on June 22nd.
- The closest public parking for Tartu city bikes is located at Kreutzwaldi Street, Herne Street, and near the Estonian University of Life Sciences. Bolt electric scooters can be parked around the Song Festival Grounds according to the app’s regulations.
Buses
- Groups arriving by chartered bus for the celebration can drop off performers in the lower parking lot of the Song Festival Grounds (Tuglase Street). Buses can then park at the sports hall parking lot of the Estonian University of Life Sciences.
- On June 21st, orchestral musicians can use the lower parking lot of the Song Festival Grounds for transporting instruments. Instruments will be stored in the festival venue and can be picked up later in the evening after the event.
RESTING AREA
- Access to the performer's area in the lower part of the Song Festival Grounds is only possible with a performer's wristband.
- There are no designated dressing rooms or resting areas for choirs. Each group must create its own resting area, and performers are responsible for the safety of their belongings in the resting area.
ACCOMMODATION
- As this is a one-day event, accommodation is not provided for groups.
PROCESSION
- The procession will take place on June 22nd starting at 4 pm from Vabaduse Avenue to the Song Festival Grounds. We will send separate information about the procession during May.
